Our story
We go where the maps run out.
Wanderlust in North Wales is an independent guide to North Wales — written by people who live here, walk here, and eat here.
No press trips. No sponsored fluff.
Wanderlust in North Wales started as a personal project — a way to share the North Wales that doesn't make the tourist brochures. The hidden waterfalls. The pubs that don't have websites. The mountain routes that reward the early riser.
We've grown into a full editorial guide, but the ethos hasn't changed. Every recommendation is genuine. Every story is written by someone who was actually there. We don't accept payment for coverage, and we don't write about places we haven't visited.
North Wales is one of the most extraordinary places in Britain. We think more people should know about it — and we think the best way to share it is honestly.
Independent
We're not funded by tourism boards or sponsored by hotels. Our recommendations are ours alone.
Honest
We write about what we actually find — the good, the difficult, and the occasionally disappointing.
Local
Our writers live in North Wales. We know the back roads, the seasonal closures, and the places the guidebooks miss.
Respectful
We care about the places we write about. We encourage responsible travel and support local businesses.
